GERM on ZOOM: Oct 6, 2021

What do we hear at the Golden Era Recorded Music project? Simply ALL MUSIC recorded on Planet Earth from 1948 to 1988! Join the Journey via ANALOG LP.

We begin tonight with the “other” great jazz orchestra of the 1950's &'60's: COUNT BASIE and his legendary “ATOMIC LP” of 1958. Nothing finer in all of jazzdom!

The great CHOIR of NORMAN LUBOFF went through many stylistic changes. We will sample the ROMANTIC, the BRITISH and the AMERICAN WEST.

DUKE ELLINGTON is the other half of the BASIE-ELLINGTON Great Jazz Pair. We will hear the orchestra in 1 or 2 numbers from the PIANO IN THE BACGROUND lp.

AND for something completely new on the GERM project: A classical montage of ALAN HOVHANESS, GUSTAV MAHLER and IGOR STRAVINSKY (Eastman Winds, Fritz Wunderlich, Pierre Monteaux) GREAT TUNES!

We send out a link for the Zoom meeting every Wednesday by email! Please contact us and let us know if you'd like to be added to the mailing list.

See you all at 7 pm TONIGHT!
