GERM on Zoom: Nov 3, 2021

What do we hear on the Golden Era Recorded Music project? Simply ALL MUSIC on Planet Earth from 1948 to 1988! Join the Journey on Zoom via ANALOG LP.

Tonight's program will feature the sound of woodwinds and brass in various styles and combinations and we will start with the CLARINET RHAPSODY of CLAUDE DEBUSSY.

Then GERRY MULLIGAN (baritone sax) and CHET BAKER (trumpet) form an unbeatable combination in several numbers sans piano (most unusual) on the rare CRESCENDO label.

BUDDY de FRANCO was one of the great jazz clarinet virtuosi and we will hear him on the flip side of the same LP.

The DEBUSSY LA MER project continues with the BOSTON SYMPHONY led by CHARLES MUNCH and the 2nd movement, PLAY OF THE WAVES. Incredible woodwind and brass!

It's NOVEMBER and time to start thinking HANDEL and MESSIAH! I came across a BOSTON SYMPHONY spin-off, the ZIMBLER SINFONIETTA led by THOMPSON STONE. Let's hear the overture!
