GERM on ZOOM (June 24, 2020)

The Golden Era Recorded Music project is an ongoing exploration of ALL recorded music on planet EARTH from 1948 to 1988.

Tonight we will hear ERIC CLAPTON'S acoustic version of the great song LYLA, from his UNPLUGGED album. NANA MOUSKOURI, the Greek songstress who was the toast of France ca 1965-1975, will be heard on FRENCH VINYL.

Did you ever think of a classical composer as “not good enough?” That is the way Anton Bruckner felt after the disastrous premier of his 1873 THIRD SYMPHONY. He cut massive chunks from the score and published a new version, but the ORIGINAL CREATION lay dormant until a 1983 recording revealed its PRISTINE BEAUTY. Judge for yourself when I play an amazing cut-out section.

One of the BEST AMERICAN CHOIRS will be heard in SONGS from the BRITISH ISLES, recorded in England. AND a funk rocker named D. . . . .!

I will start a search for the GREAT AMERICAN SYMPHONY (Step aside, Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms!)

We send out a link for the Zoom meeting every Wednesday by email! Please contact us and let us know if you'd like to be added to the mailing list.

See you all at 7 pm TONIGHT!
