GERM on ZOOM (Sept 2, 2020)

If you are the sort of person that HUNGERS for the new, the strange, the astonishing music you DID NOT KNOW, then Golden Era Recorded Music project is for you! It's all about the great vinyl from 1948 to 1988. We play LPs on a classic WELL-TEMPERED turntable direct to ZOOM via computer!

Tonight we will be hearing from the AMERICAN FOLK MUSIC ANTHOLOGY, a 1952 LP transfer of rare and priceless 78 RPM blues and folk music recorded between 1927 and 1933. This is also known as the HARRY SMITH FOLKWAYS ANTHOLOGY. This LP set made the Folk Music Boom of 1955 to 1980 possible. If you really want to know where the rock and folk greats came from (Eric Clapton, the Grateful Dead etc) YOU MUST HEAR this 6 lp compendium!

And we will also sample the almost unknown FOREST OF THE AMAZON for soprano, chorus and orchestra by Brazilian HEITOR VILLA-LOBOS.

Don't miss this rarely heard music!

We send out a link for the Zoom meeting every Wednesday by email! Please contact us and let us know if you'd like to be added to the mailing list.

See you all at 7 pm TONIGHT!
