GERM on ZOOM: Jan 20, 2021

At our weekly Golden Era Recorded Music Project, we play and talk about EVERY KIND of music on LP RECORDS, from 1948 to 1988.

Tonight we will sample FOLK MUSIC from two very different traditions: Rural France and the SONGS OF THE AUVERGNE by Marie-Joseph Canteloube, plus 18th and 19th century SEA SHANTIES from the days of sailing ships and the risky tasks of life on the open ocean.

NEW ORLEANS and THE JAZZ CLUB live from “THE QUARTER” with PETE FOUNTAIN'S CLARINET will bring us directly to the “CITY THAT TIME FORGOT.”

“COCKTSAIL POP” (a style lost in the corridors of time) will reemerge with HUGO WINTERHALTER “GOING CONTINENTAL.”

HARMONICA and CLASSICAL ORCHESTRA? We will hear it tonight!

Part 4 (and final) section of the ALPINE SYMPHONY will take us from the SUMMIT, through a THUNDERSTORM and a gorgeous SUNSET back into the NIGHT.

We send out a link for the Zoom meeting every Wednesday by email! Please contact us and let us know if you'd like to be added to the mailing list.

See you all at 7 pm TONIGHT!
