GERM on ZOOM: Jan 27, 2021

Join us to explore the ENTIRE WORLD of ANALOG LP RECORDS, from 1948 to 1988, in our weekly Golden Era Recorded Music Project!

Tonight we will be doing a FIRST SAMPLING of songs by JIMMY WEBB. GLEN CAMPBELL and RICHARD HARRIS will sing for us.

On to NEW ORLEANS and another GREAT EARLY PETE FOUNTAIN number, this time with AL HIRT doing a STARTLING LOUIS ARMSTRONG impersonation.

Two 1970's hits by the ASSOCIATION will lead right into PART 4 of the ALPINE SYMPHONY by RICHARD STRAUSS: the most glorious SUNSET ever described in music.

And to send us home dancing the LIGHT FANTASTIC, we will hear the very first minuet composed by PAPA HAYDN in his new job for PRINCE PAUL ESTERHAZY. LISTEN for the great woodwind chortling with the double bass!

We send out a link for the Zoom meeting every Wednesday by email! Please contact us and let us know if you'd like to be added to the mailing list.

See you all at 7 pm TONIGHT!
