GERM on ZOOM: April 21, 2021

We gather on Wednesday nights for our Golden Era Recorded Music Project to experience the LP record era (1948-1988) from around the planet!

For EARTH DAY, we will hear the incredible RIVER RUN by PAUL WINTER and his group, recorded in both the GRAND CANYON and the WORLD'S LARGEST CATHEDRAL!

The great pianist SVIATOSLAV RICHTER made several recordings on his FIRST AMERICAN TOUR in December, 1960. We will hear him at CARNEGIE HALL playing RAVEL.

GUYS & DOLLS is called by some the “Greatest Broadway Musical” EVER! We will hear the opening numbers from the ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST LP ca. 1952

B. B. KING and the BLUES from the LP album COMPLETELY WELL is beyond category. Hear it and marvel.

The 1956 album THE JEEP IS JUMPIN was how DUKE ELLINGTON and BILLY STRAYHORN buried the hatchet; DUKE is in the title BUT BILLY is listed as both COMPOSER and ARRANGER!

We send out a link for the Zoom meeting every Wednesday by email! Please contact us and let us know if you'd like to be added to the mailing list.

See you all at 7 pm TONIGHT!
