GERM on ZOOM: July 7, 2021

At our GOLDEN ERA RECORDED MUSIC Project every Wednesday night, we explore together LP RECORDS from every corner of the world, 1948 to 1988.

NOTA BENE: We resume our LIVE GERM SESSIONS on this coming Saturday, from 4 to 5 pm at my LISTENING PLACE 153 MAPLE STREET, Glens Falls. The program is the same BUT played through the best speakers I make with the best amplifier that I own (1932 era 300B tubes).

TONIGHT we will hear dance and march music in double time. First, it is the RUMSANIAN RHAPSODY No. 2 by the 20 year old GEORGE ENESCU (1901)

A minor subset in the history of Rock music is inspired by CLASSICAL MUSIC compositions. I have discovered one of the best of the genre: ARS NOVA doing a PAVAN and ZARATHUSTRA.

Our 3 part presentation of Wagner's DAS RHEINGOLD ends tonight with the ENTRY OF THE GODS INTO VALHALLA, never has a dark prediction of doom been so beautiful.

A bit of double time BRITISH cake walk sends us home happy

We send out a link for the Zoom meeting every Wednesday by email! Please contact us and let us know if you'd like to be added to the mailing list.

See you all at 7 pm TONIGHT!
